CHUCK GLOSE
OWNER, LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Chuck began his firefighting career in 1998 with the Hendersonville Fire Department in Tennessee. He became a paramedic in 2001 and joined the Medford (Oregon) Fire Department in 2003. In 2009, he created the department’s Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and active shooter response programs. Since then, he’s taught TCCC and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) to hundreds of firefighters, law enforcement, military, EMS, and medical personnel.
Chuck was promoted to Captain in 2011. Over the next several years, he assisted in a collaboration between the Medford Police and Fire Departments in creating a SWAT medic program and he’s currently a SWAT Medic.
He is a five-time presenter at the State of Jefferson EMS Conference and has consulted fire and law enforcement agencies on incorporating medical personnel into active shooter response. He has also trained K9 handlers from regional law enforcement agencies to Oregon State Inspector General Department of Corrections in K9 Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.
He now also instructs TECC to the civilian community and has taught varied groups from firearms enthusiasts to winery staff to members of the Humane Society.
Chuck grew up in Huntington Beach, California where he attended Ocean View High School.
In 1992, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky as an Infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division where he eventually became a squad leader. He was Air Assault qualified and a Combat Lifesaver.
His awards include Firefighter of the Year, Officer of the Year, Lifesaving Award, Outstanding Service Award, Distinguished Service Award, and Medal of Valor.
